Welcome back, everyone. Seeking help for any addiction can be difficult, but the people at Renaissance Ranch help guide you in every way. We have Dave and Russ here joining us now, because this has been a very tough time, especially during the pandemic, you might be seeing more cases, especially during this time.
Yeah, we definitely are. We we’ve actually been busier than any other time in the history of the ranch. You know, I think secrecy, silence, shame, isolation are ingredients that feed addiction. And we’re seeing a lot of that right now. Yeah. I’ve been busy. Yeah. You might be hiding, but you can hide only so long, especially during the pandemic where you are with each other constantly.
Yeah, no doubt about it. Yeah. So yeah, Renaissance ranch. I think what sets us apart from other treatment centers is from the top down owner down role in recovery, from drug and alcohol addiction ourselves. And we take a faith-based perspective. I think that’s something that sets us apart. We don’t shy away from it.
Um, so I think that’s part of what makes us a strong company and program. So Russ, let’s talk about what to expect when someone does come in. What does that process like? Of course, um, with that, that first step being so difficult, I mean, it’s such a difficult one. You’ve got your, your, your family. Who’s, who’s worried about you going.
Um, who cares about you? And one of the first things we want everybody to know is we hug, we hug that’s that’s the first thing expect to hug when you come through the door. Um, because like Dave said, so many of us are in recovery. That work there we’ve been there. We’ve been in, in, in that seat, in those shoes.
And so we can, we can relate to that. And a lot of times addiction kind of feeds this sense of isolation. And so to come in, expect that you’re going to have other people who’ve been through what you’ve been through restless can be hard to talk about. And it can also give you the empathy and sensitivity when someone does walk through those doors.
Yeah, absolutely. And a big component of that is, is we have our, our fellowship the week. The brotherhood kind of our slogan is the Band of Brothers. Um, and, and with that, it’s, it’s almost like this, this connection that all these guys have that have gone through our program of us that have gone through the program, a comradery that comes from.
You know, from, from, from experiencing the throes of addiction. And, and so the, the idea and one of the really cool things about this brotherhood is it, it feeds into long-term support. Um, you know, after, after treatment, life’s there. And if you have these bonds and these connections with these men that you’ve been in treatment with, you can support each other and lean on each other and with a brotherhood, you never leave anyone behind.
Amen. That’s right. Let’s also talk about how does Renaissance. Um, how are they different from other potential treatment centers? Yeah, you know, I think two of our values that I would just focus on is connection and faith. You know, um, if there’s a force out there that can compete with the power of addiction, it’s connection, you know, I think every man that walks through the front door feels deeply cared for, they feel connected to the brotherhood and then that facilitates.
Developing a true connection with themselves and with their higher power, you know, and that’s something we lean into. Um, I remember being in treatment and hearing in a group, look to your left, look to your right. One of you will die. One of you will stay in prison and one of you will experience recovery.
And our message is every single one of you. Can recover, stay plugged into this brotherhood and fellowship, the approach that we need, the positivity. And again, the sensitivity, you don’t want to tell someone that you’re not going to make it how that’s a non-starter. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. And so, like I said, with faith too, if you’re a family member who feels helpless, powerless, you know, um, get support for yourself too, we offer family classes, education where family members can learn about like what’s helpful.
What’s not helpful. Take care of you. And, uh, and if you’re out there struggling with addiction in secrecy and silence, bring that into the light, come home like we’re here. And Dave, I like how you’re talking to the person rest. What about loved ones? How do you talk to them and bringing someone they love dearly to get some help?
Absolutely. I think just being sensitive that the, addiction itself doesn’t just affect the person seeking treatment. And we’re sensitive to that because we’ve seen so many things. And I think one of the cool things on that, just to share an experience this morning, um, David and I got a text message.
From a client saying that he was seven years sober and that he’s married and he, and he’s, and he’s being a dad and we get to see these things. And, and that’s really where the hope is. I think because it’s not just treating the addiction, it’s treating the family system, you know, uh, is one of our main focuses.
Absolutely the person you treat the family, and then you’re also helping our community. Thank you so much, Renaissance Ranch. A special place to help people who are struggling with addiction.
